1. Growth Mindset

1.1. I want to teach my students what a growth mindset is and how this kind of mindset can have such a positive impact of their educational journey and their life

1.2. Carol Dweck, a theorist we discussed in class and during lesson 11, believed that a growth mindset is the mindset in which you believe that you can learn anything if you push yourself and believe in yourself.

2. Constructivism

2.1. I would love to implement more inquiry based learning for my students because this kind of learning encourages students to create their own interpretation of the information they are learning. They would also be able to have a more hands on learning experience

2.2. John Dewey, a theorist we discussed in class during lesson 18, believe in this constructivist way of teaching and learning as it teaches students to learn in a hands on way using information from their pas experiences and knowledge from other experiences.

3. Metacognition

3.1. I want to teach my students the importance of metacognition and how great it can be to understand how you learn best

3.2. In lesson 16, we discussed metacognition and how students generally do not understand how much they know about a topic and the importance of teaching students to think about metacognition so they can be the best they can be.

4. Inclusion of Diversity

4.1. I want ALL of my students to feel included in my classroom no matter their race, ethnic background, gender, culture, socioeconomic status, language, and any other characteristics that make them unique.

4.2. In class, specifically, lesson 12, we talked about learner diversity the importance of being open to all students and their unique stories and backgrounds.

5. Learning Styles

5.1. I want to teach my students in a way that focuses not on just one learning style, but to all the different learning styles to help my students grow and learn in different ways, and also to help students find how they learn best.

5.2. In lesson 11, we discussed that a learning style is defined as a consistent preference for how you understand, think about, and organize information. We also discussed the many different learning styles and how they differ from one another.
