1. Strengthening Citizens' sense of belonging

1.1. Singapore is a diverse country with a lot of immigrants, and Singaporeans may feel right-wing nationalistic sentiment when they feel that the government is neglecting their concerns. Thus, it is essential for the government to strengthen citizens' sense of belonging. The government does this by engaging Singaporeans in political conversations which makes Singaporeans feel like they play a part in the development of Singapore and thus, develop a stronger sense of attachment towards Singapore

2. Contributing to the needs of society

2.1. Every citizens has a role to play in improving the lives of others. Citizens can contribute to the needy, contribute towards animal welfare, and contribute towards the welfare of children overseas

2.2. Citizens may do this by either participating in such activities by themselves or through organized groups. Examples of famous organized groups in Singapore include: FoodbankSG & Cat Welfare Society

3. Influencing government decisions

3.1. Feedback and suggestions from Singaporeans can influence the decisions made and plans for Singapore

3.2. Influencing government decisions is essential for citizens. Citizens must ensure that they have a government that genuinely listens and pays attention to their concerns. "Our Singapore Conversation" (OSC) was an initiative led by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in which many Singaporeans were given the opportunity to discuss issues they felt were important and issues they felt the government had neglected. This led to the government discovering that Singaporeans felt that their efforts to help the elderly and the disabled in SIngapore were inept, and this later on caused the government to make sweeping changes and improve the lives of the elderly and the disabled in Singapore.
