What is Technology?

1.1. In this video the spokesman explains that technology is things that are created by humans! To help make our everyday lives easier or solve our problems.
2. Why do we need new technologies?
2.1. To accomplish things as a society that we may not have previously believed possible.
2.2. In order to advance our society.
2.3. For it should constantly strive to behave better both as a society and as individuals.
2.4. To keep raising the standard of our lives by making things simpler for us to accomplish.
2.5. To stay abreast of our constantly evolving needs and desires.
2.6. For survival. Eg. Medical
2.7. The world is always facing new challenges, which new technologies enable us to address.
2.8. Advances civilization and society and can raise living standards
3. ADD ON'S
3.1. In the article, DEFINING THE WORD “TECHNOLOGY” … FOUR TIMES by John Dyer. He clarifies that technology is difficult to define, much like art. However, that is a useful list of them that will be beneficial. Dyer's first technological illustration is...
3.1.1. The takeaway from all of this is that "technology" refers to more than just the laptops and phones we carry around in our bags. Utilizing these pieces of hardware involves us in something much greater than ourselves, something that impacts each of us on a social and individual level.
3.2. 1. Technology as Hardware – this is the basic level that most of us mean when we use the word “technology.” "Technology" could refer to any hardware item, such as a clock, shovel, laptop, belt, thermometer, canteen, tank, or faux duck decoy. These are essentially things that do not happen "naturally," which theists believe are creations of God.
3.3. 2. Technology as Manufacturing: Taking a step back, we can see that the things that are on our desks and in our pockets are actually the tools that are used to make everything else. When it comes to manufacturing, technology encompasses not just the vat containing the molten steel for our next car or the robot building our next computer, but the entire process, from the workers operating the machinery to the electrical grid that powers the plant to the laws enacted to control the sector. This idea of technology did not really exist prior to the Industrial Revolution.
3.4. 3. Technology as Methodology: If the physical products and labour involved in producing hardware are included in the definition of technology as manufacturing, then knowledge and expertise are the third application. This application of technology refers to the procedures, techniques, and abilities required to create contemporary hardware rather than a physical good or even the actual machinery used to produce it. Consulting firms generate billions of dollars by optimizing and simplifying the processes used by businesses to produce hardware.
3.5. 4. Technology as Social Use: The driving laws are an example of social technology that is installed on the exterior of cars. In the same way that 45 people collaborate to form an orchestra at the same time, technology also connects people, instruments, and music.
4. What I thought before...
4.1. At first I thought technology was something that we use in our everyday lives. For example, cell phones, tables, laptops, computers, game consoles, T.V, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and so much more.
4.2. Cell phones and tablets
4.2.1. Laptops and Computers
4.2.1.1. Game Consoles
4.2.1.1.1. AI (Artificial Intelligence)
5. What I think now
5.1. Technology: What Is It? That is the primary query. Because different people see technology in different ways around the world, it can be difficult to define. However, I would characterize technology as the useful application of scientific understanding to resolve pressing issues and enhance human welfare. It seeks to accomplish an industrial or commercial goal. To bolster my ideas...
5.1.1. In the module it is stated by Kumar, Kumar, & Persuad (1999) that, "Technology has two primary components: 1) a physical component which comprises of items such as products, tooling, equipments, blueprints, techniques, and processes; and 2) the informational component which consists of know-how in management, marketing, production, quality control, reliability, skilled labor and functional areas." (Shibboleth Authentication Request, n.d.)
5.2. In an article written by Isman. Isman noted that "Human's use of technology involves not only machines (e.g., computer hardware, cell phones, laptops, ect...) and instruments, but also includes structured relations with other humans, machines, and the environment." To put it briefly, technology encompasses more than just a collection of tools and machinery (Isman, 2012, 208).
5.2.1. I was able to expand my perspective on technology by using this quote to see beyond its mechanical components. Technology has the potential to improve human-environment relationships and connections.
5.3. https://youtu.be/cnDEVgxD6QQ?si=KY_mQA0V67ibkEJm
5.3.1. In this YouTube video, for example, spokesperson Mchelle Bazargan makes it clear that technology should be used to connect people rather than to isolate them. She uses a bicycle as an example to show how, when used properly, technology can be a perfect example of this connection. "To help bring out deep human emotions and spin off a cycle of creativity and innovation," is the goal, according to Baxargan. Will we break the chain of creativity and invention that led to the development of technology because we cannot communicate with each other? "The Value of Deep Human Connection" is something we cannot lose because without it, we might as well stay in the creative cycle and become robots.
6. How have my ideas changed?
6.1. the use of science and expertise to carry out a concept intended to fulfill a human need or desire in the hopes of revolutionizing and/or improving how people carry out a specific task.
6.2. Technology is a lot more difficult to define than I had initially thought.
6.3. Before now, I had no idea what linked all types of technology. I now see that every technology seeks to accomplish a human goal and satisfy a need or desire on behalf of humans. This is the one commonality among all technologies.
6.4. Technology is ever-evolving.
6.5. extended to encompass procedures, techniques, and organized relationships in addition to merely physical inventions and machinery.
