1. Explore the Alternatives -offer to help them study for the test -tell an adult
1.1. Consider the Consequences If you help them study they may steal all your notes and put the same exact thing on their test paper looking like both of you cheated. If you don't tell an adult they may ask another student to help them cheat, which would put that student in the same tough situation that were put in. You can always tell an adult and they can help the student understand the subject better so that they wont feel the need to cheat. Your friend may do great on the test and not want to cheat again. In the future you may not be friends with them if I tell an adult but it will be better for everyone in the long run.
1.1.1. Identify Your Values In long term it would be better for both you and your friend if you told an adult With my values it would be the right decison to refuse and tell someone. Also make sure my friend knows that it is not right to put me in a tough spot of choosing to help them or not. Would feel bad if I let my friend copy and they would also not be learning anything.
1.1.1.1. Decide and Act It would be a better choice to tell an adult. I would also like to help this friend study and learn. I would be right to refuse to let them copy but would not be right to leave them without any help. I would tell an adult so that later on in life my friend does not ask another student to cheat because that student may not make the right choice.
1.1.1.1.1. Evaluate the Results This decision has made my life better because I do not have a friend that would put me in a tough situation like that. This has helped others because maybe my friend won't ask anyone else and put them in an awkward situation. If I could do it differently I would not offer to help them study because if they cant put in their own time to get better grades then I should not give them all of the answers.
