1. RULES

1.1. If you knock down a fence because of a refusal, wait until it has been replaced and you hear the bell. You can then jump the fence.

1.2. Do not stop on the course - this can be classified as resistance and is subject to a penalty

3. What to wear. Beginner Novice through Preliminary. Coat - dark color or tweed. Shirt - stock with pin, choker or tie. Jodhpurs, Britches - light color or white; Boots - black, brown, field jodhpur or black or brown full grain smooth leather leg piece and matching leather boots. ASTM approved helmet. (EV114)

5. Tips for navigating the course

5.1. Obstacles are numbered in the order they must be jumped. I the case of a combination jump, a distinguishing letter will be added, for example; 8a, 8b

5.1.1. The course track will be distinguished by directional arrows.

5.2. Flags. You are going in the right direction when the red flag is on the right and the white flag is on the left.

6. The Bell. The bell is used to communicate with the rider. The bell will ring to give you permission to enter the arena for course inspection. The bell signals a 45 second countdown. The bell can be used to stop a competitor and also to restart a competitor after an interruption. You will be eliminated if you start your course or restart on the course before the bell rings.
