Types of Validity Evidence
by Don Edwards
1. Criterion related Evidence-Do the test results match up with other known measuresof characteristics. Scores from a test are correlated with an external concurrent and prediative (Kubiszyn & Borich, 2010).
1.1. Action Point 1
1.2. Action Point 2
2. Content for Validity evidence- is a test established by inspecting test questions to see whether they correspond to what the user decides should be covered by the test (Kubiszyn & Borich, 2010). "Face validity" -does the test look like it measures what it is supposed to measure? Example: Asking a student if they are feeling happy or sad and making a checklist about perso's mood.
2.1. High Priority
2.2. Medium Priority
2.3. Low Priority
3. Construct validity evidence-refers to the association of the test with an underlying theory. it is a logical explanation or rationale that can account for the interrelationships among a set of variables (Kubiszyn & Borich, 2010).
3.1. Goals
3.1.1. Goal 1
3.1.2. Goal 2
3.2. Rules
3.2.1. Session Rule 1
3.2.2. Session Rule 2
3.3. Define Problems
3.4. Capture Ideas
3.5. Prioritize Ideas
3.6. Define Action Points
4. Concurrent criterion related-Comparing test with another indicator at the same time..measures that can be administered at the same time as the measure to be validated (Kubiszyn & Borich, 2010).
4.1. Problem 1
4.2. Problem 2
5. Predictive validity evidence-refers to how well the test predicts some future behavior of the examinees (Kubiszyn &Borich, 2010). Example: Applicant who scores low on test (but passed & were hired) had more disciplinary citations in their record a year later than the person who scored higher on the test.

5.1.1. Sub Idea 1
5.1.2. Sub Idea 2
