1. The 13 resolutions

1.1. Purpose

1.1.1. The Purpose of life is to glorify God and we each have unique talents(gifts) that we can contribute today to serve others.

1.4.2.1.1. We go through struggle because the promise of being in the presence of God is the fulfillment of all our desires

1.5.1. Once a purpose is defined; action is simple. What do you want? What does it take? Do it everyday.

1.7. Friendship

1.8.1. We have a biblical responsibility to earn as much as possible in integrity; so that we can utilize our resources towards achieving our purpose

1.9. Leadership

1.9.1. Leaders use their resolutions to build their character, task management skills, and relationships, in order to create an objective and structure that people follow and duplicate

1.10. Conflict Resolution

1.10.1. Quickly confront conflict by affirming the purpose for the relationship and seeking reconciliation

1.10.2. Do not add to this... as soon as you add things to fix; then the conversation turns from conflict resolution to relationship improvement which has no clearly defined resolution!

1.11. Systems

1.11.1. A system is any series of interconnected events or things that yields a certain result

1.11.1.1. Recognize them; then influence their leverage points to get the desired result

1.11.1.1.1. Must be in line with Purpose

1.11.2. The important part of the system is not the pieces but rather how well they are connected

1.12. Adversity Quotient

1.12.1. Adversity Quotient is the ability to endure pain on the path to purpose

1.13. Legacy

1.13.1. Our legacy is determined by how well we absorb, integrate and transmit the 13 resolutions

2. Leadership is not for the faint of heart

2.1. Leaders will be attacked by the 90% as disconnected all the way to manipulative

2.1.1. We fight the good fight.

3. Locus of Control

3.1. We are not victims

3.1.1. God has given us freedom of choice so that we are even in control of allowing him to take control!

4. Leave the world a better place

4.1. People will not remember what you have, but what you give

5. 2nd law of Thermodynamics

5.1. decline happens

5.1.1. We have been given dominion by God; we can intervene in decline

5.1.1.1. The goal is to create a culture or current that lasts

5.1.1.1.1. The leadership team must run against the current of decline in order to create progress

6. Identify the forces of decline and overcome them

6.1. The 5 Laws of decline

6.1.1. Sturgeon's law

6.1.1.1. 90% are followers and 10% are leaders

6.1.1.1.1. 90% of people who say they're leading are actually bobbing

6.1.2. Basteot's law

6.1.2.1. The fatal tendency to satisfy wants with the least effort possible

6.1.2.1.1. Ceaseless toil is the only way to success

6.1.3. Greshem's Law

6.1.3.1. When government undervalues one money and overvalues another; the undervalued money will leave circulation and the overvalued money will flood the market.

6.1.3.1.1. No one pays for anything with gold and silver; when paper money is used.

6.1.4. Law of Diminishing Returns

6.1.4.1. There is a balance between effort and productivity that results in the most efficiency.

6.1.4.1.1. Attempts to scale bring quality down

6.1.5. Law of Inertia

6.1.5.1. objects in motion stay in motion; objects at rest stay at rest - until acted upon by another force

6.1.5.1.1. Leaders must not allow decline to gain forward inertia

6.1.6. Each law degrades into the next one and so on...

6.1.6.1. Sturgeon's law will eventually put a follower in a leadership role which will result in being swept away by the negative current of decline

7. Takeaway

7.1. Leadership legacy is to live the 13 resolutions and help others learn and share the resolutions with future generations. Ultimately the best legacy one can leave is a community of high trust relationships that systematically spreads the gospel through Biblical principles. This is the only result that multiplies through leverage and truly lasts forever.
