1.1. Do authors have power? What is the power of the pen? Yes, authors do have power. The Power of the pen gives them power. They can write anything the want to , and the story, poem, etc. written will go the way they want it to go.

1.2. D you think that authors have responsibility to use their power to use their power to make positive changes? Why? I think authors do have the power to make positive changes. They can write a life story and good ways to deal with it. That will encourage others to change their lives around.

1.3. Does a person with personal or individual power have the right to use it for evil? Why? No they don't have the write. That'll just make society worst than what it already is.

1.4. Does any character in this book uses his or her power for good? Explain. Yes, the guardian of Erika used her power for good. She took Erika in her home and raised her as her own.

1.6. We're you surprised by any actions of the characters? How? I was a little surprised that Erika's mom threw her from the train because to me it seems like she would keep her Southey can spend all their time together. Also I was surprised the lady took Erika in as her own.

1.7. Describe a decision or choice made by one of the character. Do you agree with this action? When Erika's mo. Decided to throw her from the train. I agree with that because if it was me I wouldn't want my child to grow up in a concentration camp.

2.1. To me this is a really good book. Her story seems unbelievable. When I think about the Holocaust I think about people dying, and cry, working hard for nothing. I would've never thought about a mother throwing her child from a train to keep her safe.
