Validity & Reliability by Mind Map: Validity & Reliability

1. Content Validity - This validity evidence is established by inspecting test questions to see whether they correspond to what the user decides should be covered by the test.

1.1. Check out http://www.mindmeister.com/tools

2. Criterion-Related Validity Evidence - This is a second form of validity evidence. Scores from a test can be correlated with an external form of this validity form.

3. Predictive Criterion-Related Validity Evidence - This validity evidence refers to how well the test predicts some future behavior of the examinees

4. Internal Consistency

4.1. Internal consistency is necessary when reliability of scores need to be estimated. This can be done by using split halves and odd-even reliability.

5. Alternate forms

5.1. Alternate forms is the same as equivalence

5.2. Alternate forms can be used to obtain an estimate of the reliability of the scores from the test.

5.3. If there are two alternate forms, the correlation between the two alternate forms must be determined and validated.

6. Stability

6.1. Stability is one way to depict reliability of scores.

6.2. Test-retest and stability are one in the same.

6.3. Determining the correlation between two scores is one way of testing their reliability.
