1. Input Device

1.1. Anything used to input data into the computer.

1.2. Examples include: keyboard, mouse, scanners, digital cameras, whiteboards, and tablets.

2. Application of input devices to learning.

2.1. A digital camera can be used to take a picture of the class and put in the computer to print out on a newsletter.

2.2. A scanner can be used to scan lessons to adjust on the computer.

2.3. You can draw on a whiteboard and the computer will save the image. You can then adjust the image in the computer.

3. Output Device

3.1. Pieces of hardware that move information (data that have been processed) out of the computer..

3.2. Examples include: printers, monitors, and data projection units, and speakers.

4. Application of output devices to learning.

4.1. A printer can be used to print up documents like lessons off of the computer. It is the hard copy.

4.2. A monitor shows the presentation on the computer. It is the soft copy.

4.3. Speakers can help students hear the computer data like online lessons. Headphones help by allowing students to listen without disturbing others. Different students can work on different things. Also, they can help an entire group of students hear the information.
