Stereotyping

1. Stereotypes are one way in which we “define” the world in order to see it.
2. Stereotypes are a kind of gossip about the world, a gossip that makes us prejudge people before we ever lay eyes on them.
3. Stereotypes save us the “trouble” of finding out what the world is like--they give it its accustomed look.
4. People don’t take the time to get to know people before they began to judge based on looks, ethnicity, voices and many others.
5. One thing i learned; I learned that i stereotype all the time to make myself seem more confident. Thats something i have to work on. I also learned that some people are brought up on the idea of stereotyping.
