4.1.1. Descriptive writing can be known as 'show writing' and its description would help the reader visualize the scenes and make the reader feel as if he was in the story.
4.1.2. Descriptive writing draws the reader more into the setting and details than the story itself, by painting a picture of the scene and allowing the reader a better visualisation of what is happening.

4.2.1. A lot of detail is involved as well as many adjectives and descriptive words (vivid verbs, similes, metaphors and precise vocabulary) to spice up the essay.

5.1. What in your opinion is Descriptive Writing?
5.1.1. 1) i think descriptive writing is a very flowery language that we used to describe the situation as clear as possible for the readers to understand. 2)i think descriptive writing have to have strong vocabulary because you need to use a wide range of vocabulary.
5.1.2. I think descriptive reading is a type of writing where everything is described in great detail to allow the reader to imagine and picture himself/ herself in the scenario.

5.2.1. It causes the reader to want to read more, because of the vivid descriptions that makes the reader feel like he/she is in the situation and is curious to know what happens next.

5.3.1. 1) it is more of a narrative compared to e.g expositions where you do not tell a story and you do not give suggestions like in formal letter.
5.3.2. Descriptive writing tends to focus mainly on describing and telling a story, whereas expositions are mainly giving information.

6.1.1. Descriptive writing is a technique whereby the purpose of the writing is to describe a place, person, atmosphere, etc. It does not need a wonderful story but the more important thing about descriptive writing is the description instead of the story itself. It helps the reader to visualise what the setting of the story in the mind of the reader and also helps them to understand the character better by describing the actions, feelings and thoughts of the character.
6.1.2. It brings out every detail of the item/place/person/thing being described. To the tiniest detail, it is made 'visible' to the reader.

6.3.1. For expositions and formal letters, there is a subject/point that you have to bring across however for descriptive writing, it is more of the description that counts.

7.1. What is your opinion on descriptive writing?
7.1.1. I think that descriptive writing is a type of writing that enables the reader to feel and imagine the scene that is being described, so that they feel like as if they are physically there and can see what is happening or being described or a certain idea that relates to them.
7.2. What does it entail?
7.2.1. Description of usually an object, person place, so that readers can imagine to the best what the actual scene is actually like. It enhances the visual image of an object/person/place. Uses complicated and extremely descriptive, big words and phrases that catches the reader's attention as well as captivate the reader.
7.2.1.1. The vivid description of the facial expressions of a character or their body language, their tone of voice etc. can evoke an emotion in the reader to feel what the character is feeling. It also uses literary devices such as metaphor and smiles to bring out the main idea

7.3.1. It is more focused on one scene and not a story as a whole. Compared to narratives, it usually only depicts a single scene. Many details are needed

8.1. What is your opinion of descriptive writing?
8.1.1. 1.Descriptive writing is extremely difficult to write. Many authors had either very long and boring descriptions and or too short descriptions. However, good description is able to attract the reader as it adds richness into the story and allow to reader to feel that he or she is there in the story. It is showing the reader and not telling. 2.Descriptive writing can make the characters more vivid and lively. They show the readers some important details.
8.2. What does it entail?
8.2.1. Lots of adjectives adverbs. Often it will make use of similes and metaphors to allow the reader to imagine the object being described.
8.3. How is it different from other text types (e.g. expositions, formal letters) you have learnt?
8.3.1. Expositions and formal letters normally have a specific purpose which varies according to the topic. However, the main purpose of descriptive writing is to allow the reader to imagine atmosphere, character, etc more clearly and could sometimes hint about the personality of the character (reveal the controlling idea). It also does not tell a story, rather it is a component of a story.

9.1. What in your opinion is Descriptive Writing?
9.1.1. Desciptive writing is a from of writing which uses imagery, vivid verbs and adjectives to help the readers "experience" what was happening in the story more clearly. Using detailed description, the readers will be able to put themselves as the characters in the story and enjoy the story even more that way.
9.2. What does it entail?
9.2.1. Vivid verbs, use of a lot of adjectives to describe words, detailed description of surrounding sceneries, metaphors and similes to help the readers imagine that inanimate objects are coming to life. Through this, the writer is able to connect with the reader in making her story come alive.
9.3. How is it different from other text types (e.g. expositions, formal letters) you have learnt?
9.3.1. We are not telling the other party about something but instead, we are describing something to them. For description writing, the focus is mainly on descibing and not so much on the plot.
