1. Interpersonal Relationships
1.1. The student has difficulties creating and maintaining positive relationships with their peers and adults.
1.2. Examples include:
1.2.1. social isolation, withdrawal and/or disengagement
1.2.2. bullying (physical, verbal, social, cyber)
1.2.3. negative comments/put downs towards other individuals
1.2.4. refusing to engage (sit/work/interact) with certain peers.
1.2.5. difficulties with conflict resolution
2. Violence & Aggression
2.1. The student demonstrates violent and aggressive behaviour towards others, themselves, or inanimate objects.
2.2. Examples include
2.2.1. hitting, biting, kicking, slapping, pushing/pulling
2.2.2. destroying classroom supplies, equipment or personal belongings.
2.2.3. self harm, such as cutting or head-banging, negative self-talk.
2.2.4. inappropriate sexual talking, touching or behaviours
3. Academic
3.1. The student's behaviour affects academic performance.
3.2. Examples include:
3.2.1. work avoidance
3.2.2. incomplete assignments and tasks
3.2.3. late/truant
3.2.4. difficulties with attention and focus
3.2.5. frequent washroom breaks, physical ailments (requests to go to the nurse's office/home)
3.2.6. socializing during work periods
3.2.7. cheating
4. Non-Compliance and Defiance
4.1. The student does not follow adult requests and/or expectations.
4.2. Examples include:
4.2.1. deliberately breaking classroom/school rules
4.2.2. open refusal to teacher and adult requests
4.2.3. "talking back", sarcasm
4.2.4. arguing with teachers and staff regarding requests and/or expectations.
4.2.5. "bolting" - leaving classroom, school, or school grounds.
4.2.6. not participating in discussions, activities, and tasks.
5. Disruptive Classroom Behaviour
5.1. The student's behaviour Impacts the learning and well-being ofother students, the student themselves, and the teacher's ability to teach.
5.2. Examples include:
5.2.1. calling out
5.2.2. distracting other students during work periods
5.2.3. not staying in seat, sitting inappropriately
5.2.4. inappropriate (silly) comments during discussions and when answering questions
5.2.5. attention-seeking behaviours
5.2.6. explosive behaviour (tantrums, melt-downs)
