1. Oil, gas and mineral collecting
1.1. Oil and gas are in high demand thereofre people are willing to collect it from anywhere.When it is collected from the tundra, great damage is done.
1.1.1. Roads have to built, damagaing the natural landscape
1.1.2. Basses have to be built often meaning trees and other habitats are destroyed, further harming the environment
1.1.2.1. All of these factors cause large damage to the cold envrionments that may last forever as the environement may not be able to recover from it.
1.1.3. Houses then have to bue built for the new workers meaning more land is cleared and damage
1.1.4. Oil could also be spilt into the environment, causing one of the worst environemental disaster that can happen in a cold envrionement, an oil spill.
1.1.4.1. This will cause very long lasting affects to the wildlife involved and if it gets into a river or lake it will greatly affect the local ecosystems.
1.1.4.2. If the oil spill does occur in a river or lake it will cause all life in it to be killed. Also it will mean that any sorouding life such as the edge of the river or lake, and the trees around them would also perish as they would be affected by the oil as it would be in the water that they are absorbing through their roots.
2. Electricity pylons
2.1. These would have damgaed the envrionement as they would have resulted in the clearence of trees to make space for them, meaning habitats and ecosystems would have been damaged
3. Footpath
3.1. Something as little as a footpath can cause very large damage to an area like the tundra where it is all very fragile.
3.2. Even this amy take the tundra years to heal from.
4. Driving
4.1. Driving in some of the post fragile parts of the tundra, nearly the enitre place, can have devastating, extremely long lasting affects.
4.1.1. The ground is soft and easily affected by activty, therefore driving can make largely dented tyre maks in the fragile ground, something that the tundra will not be able to recover from for years, possibly deacdes.
