1. Branches of Philosophy

1.1. Epistemology

1.1.1. The epistemology branch is the branch that considers how people come to learn what they know. This branch proposes that there are four main bases of knowledge: divine revelation, experience, logic and reason and intuition.

1.2. Metaphysics

1.2.1. The metaphysics branch is the branch that considers the physical universe and the nature of ultimate reality. This branch brings out the consideration of reality and what is not real.

1.3. Axiology

1.3.1. The axiology branch is the branch that considers the study of principles and values. The values are divided into two main kinds: ethics and aesthetics.

1.3.1.1. Ethics: is the questioning of morals and personal values.

1.3.1.2. Aesthetics: is the examination of what is beautiful, enjoyable or tasteful.

1.4. Logic

1.4.1. The logic branch is the branch that seeks to organize reasoning. The logical way of thinking is divided into two kinds: deductive and inductive.

1.4.1.1. Deductive: is the reasoning involved examining a general case.

1.4.1.2. Inductive: involves taking specific examples and considering the general rules.

2. Philosophies of Education

2.1. Perennialism

2.1.1. This philosophy is a subject centered philosophy that values knowledge that transcends time.

2.2. Progressivism

2.2.1. This philosophy believes that individuality, progress and change are fundamental to one's education. This philosophy emphasizes that people learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives, like needs, experiences, interest and abilities of students.

2.3. Essentialism

2.3.1. This philosophy is a subject centered philosophy that is based on teaching basic skills. It focuses on transmitting a series of progressively difficult topics and promotion of students to the next level.

2.4. Social Reconstrction

2.4.1. This philosophy is a philosophy that emphasizes the addressing of social questions and a quest to crate a better society with believing that the classroom is the ideal place to begin ameliorating social problems. It encourages teachers to bring in the world issues into the classroom for educational purposes.

2.5. Technology in Classroomss

2.5.1. This philosophy is a philosophy that focuses on integrating technology into the classroom to help students gain digital skills for the future.Technology is used to enhance pedagogy and enable students to learn.

2.6. Philosophy and Cultural Minorities

2.6.1. This philosophy focuses on bringing diversity into the classroom. It brings out the importance of ignoring the stereotypes and including all the cultures in the classroom environment. This philosophy also emphasizes on learning about the different cultural and how to appropriately integrate them to make every student feel welcomed.
