1. We believe families retain shared responsibility for the upbringing, training, education and well-being of their children, consistent with the rights of the child'(UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action
2. We know that Children and youth have better outcomes when they can live safely with their families. We will strengthen our supports and prioritize resources in collaboration with our community partners to keep families together and supported.
3. We will engage our young people and work with rest of government to design a social support system for youth who are transitioning from MCFD Services.
4. When our children and youth can not be with their family, we will ensure their needs drive their placement.
