1.1.1.1. Tiny particles of food by throwing its false feet, known as pseudopodia.

1.1.1.2. Psedopodia join together to form small cavity known as food vacuole.

1.2. Hydra

1.2.1. tentacles

1.2.1.1. The body cavity the digestive juices secreted by the surrounding cells help to digest the food.

1.3. Frog

1.3.1. long sticky toungue

1.3.1.1. food is digested by the digestive juices

1.4. Paramecia

1.4.1. cilia

1.4.1.1. Stiff hair which help to catch insects is called cilia

1.5. Spider

2.3. Premolars

2.3.1. Crush and grind the food

2.4. Molars

2.4.1. Larger than premolars

3. STEPS OF DIGESTION

3.1. INGESTION

3.1.1. TAKING IN OF FOOD

3.2. DIGESTION

3.2.1. THE BREAKDOWN OF FOOD

3.3. ABSORPTION

3.3.1. THE ABSORBTON OF FOOD INTO BLOOD

3.4. ASSIMILATION

3.4.1. PROCESS OF UTILIZATION

3.5. EGESTION

3.5.1. ELIMINATION OF UNDIGESTED PARTS

4. What we learned

4.1. Ingestion in different animals

4.2. Juices and acids

4.3. Steps of digestion

4.4. Teeth

4.5. Human digestion system

4.6. Ruminants

5. HUMAN DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

5.1. FOOD IS INGESTED THROUGH MOUTH

5.2. AFTER INGESTION, IT SLIDES DOWN INTO OESOPHAGUS WHICH LEADS THE FOOD TO STOMACH .

5.3. STOMACH MUSCLES SQUEEZE AND MIX FOOD WITH DIGESTIVE JUICES

5.4. DIGESTIVE JUICES BREAK DOWN DOWN PROTEINS. THE FOOD GETS COMPLETELY DIGESTED IN SMALL INTESTINE.

5.5. LAST STEPS OF DIGESTION TAKE PLACE IN SMALL INTESTINE

5.6. ABSORPTION OF FOOD OCCURS N SMALL INTESTINE.

5.6.1. Villi are finger-like outgrowths on the inner walls of small intestine. The villi increase the surface area for absorption of the digested food.

5.6.1.1. Most of the ddigestion occurs in small intestine

5.7. ASSIMILATION IS THE FINAL STAGE OF DIGESTION .

5.8. THE FOOD THAT ISN'T DIGESTED / USED UP IN DIGESTION, INGESTION , ABSORPTION AND ASSIMILATION IS MOVED TO LARGE INTESTINE .

5.9. HERE WATER PRESENT IN WASTE IS ABSORBED . SOLID WASTE IS STORED IN RECTUM AND IS PASSED OUT OF THE BODY THROUGH THE ANUS.

6. RUMINANTS

6.1. LARGE PLANT EATING ANIMALS THAT DIGEST FOOD IN TWO STEPS

6.1.1. Total Cow has 4 chamber

6.1.2. FOOD THAT IS SWALLOWED GOES TO RUMEN . HERE IT IS PARTIALLY DIGESTED (CUD) .

6.1.3. FROM THERE IT GOES TO SECOND CHAMBER AND HERE IT IS RETURNED TO THE MOUTH FOR CHEWING. THIS PROCESS IS CALLED RUMINATION.

6.1.4. And two other chambers help in digestion

6.1.5. EXAMPLE. COWS , GOATS AND SHEEP

7. New Words

7.1. mastication- Chewing breaks down the food into small pieces and mixes it with saliva.

7.2. Peristalsis- Pushing down of food by muscles.

7.3. rumen- Food that is swallowed by the cow goes into first chamber.

8. Juices and acids

8.1. Mucous

8.1.1. Protects the innerlining of stomach

8.2. hydrochloric acid

8.2.1. It helps destroy bacteria, as well as other harmful species. and help in digestion of proteins

8.3. Digestive juices

8.3.1. Break down proteins into simpiler subtances.

8.4. Bile juice

8.4.1. secreted by liver and Stored in gall blader.

8.4.1.1. Breaks up fats into tiny droplets that can be digested and absorbed more easily.

8.5. Pancreatic juices

8.5.1. changes starch into simple sugars, and proteins into simpiler compounds called amino acids.
