Why and how should student work be showcased? por Mind Map: Why and how should student work be showcased?

1. Reasons for work not to be showcased

1.1. If no one is reviewing the work, it seems like "busy work" to the teachers.

2. Reasons for several topic-based repositories

2.1. Easier for teachers to look at the material to get best ideas from groups that have done the project before. For example, the group that did a website for Wonders.

2.2. For these repositories to be useful, it needs to include exemplars and best practices only. If it is just full of every slideshow that's been done, teachers won't look through it.

3. Tools for Showcasing

3.1. A google site or other website so it could include a variety of materials: images, videos, screenshots, etc.

4. Reasons for a central repository

4.1. Next level topic

5. Feel free to add further nodes with additional reflections - either on the end of a current topic - or a new branch altogher.

6. Accountabilty vs. Ideas

6.1. Accountability: If we have teachers post results for accountability (every partner, every project) it's going to be overwhelming for teachers to look through to glean ideas. Could accountability be provided by the coaches since we can review their work in Classroom?

6.2. Ideas: If we want a repository of work for teachers to get ideas, coaches could pull exemplars from the finished work and add them to the central repository. Teachers could use these exemplars to get ideas for their new projects. Ideas don't have to be finished projects...they could include ideas like commenting while designing moon school, etc.
