Validity and Reliability
por Betsy Melville
1. Basic Types of Validity
1.1. Content validity evidence
1.2. Criterion based (Concurrent and predictive)
1.3. Construct validity Evidence
2. Content Validity Evidence
2.1. User evaluates to see if what they think the test should cover matches up with actual assessment
2.2. Used to match objectives with test items
3. Criterion Based Validity Evidence
3.1. Concurrent criterion related validity evidence
3.1.1. administered at the same time as assessment that needs to be validated
3.1.2. Has numeric value, normally called a validity coefficient
3.2. Predictive criterion related validity evidence
3.2.1. Tells how well a test predicted future outcomes
3.2.2. Useful for aptitude tests
4. Construct Validity Evidence
4.1. Corresponds with a theory
4.1.1. Theory explains relationships between variables
4.2. Multiple theories can be used
4.2.1. Ex. :Language theories would not be used to determine validity of mathematics
