The Metamorphisis book. por Mind Map: The Metamorphisis book.

1. Sensory Details: - Flimsy - Scent of old books - Rough and fraying paper

1.1. The book was flimsy, when waved like a fan, the book's pages could bend with the motion.

1.2. Scent of old books, a gross yet almost comforting scent. You know many hands had touched which made you repulsed but the scent of old books was still warming.

1.3. The paper's cut was rough and could possibly leave a paper cut if not carfeful. The cover and back was tearing at the corner.

2. Emotions and memories: - Disgust - Validation - Curiosity

2.1. Disgust was felt when reading the story. Not at the described transformation or at Gregor but at his family. Disgust at the reactions.

2.2. Validation, Kafka's writing and pessimism on human nature gives a small feeling of validation and understanding when it's felt by myself as well.

2.3. Connection and writing: - “I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.” - Philosphical views - Metaphors

3. Connection and writing: - “I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.” - Philosphical views - Metaphors

3.1. Not being able to explain a feeling or event to someone who hasn't or can't experience it is something common that happens between friends and I. I enjoy someone being able to write that confusion.

3.2. Kafka's darker nature and philosphies in the book help me feel validation when not feeling an overly joyous attitude seen in many books. Rather than a less realistic story (theme wise), the book brings a harsh feeling of reality. Maybe not your reality but it definitely reminds you that it can/has/will happen to someone. Writing harsher things is allowed and helps encourage a realistic sense when needed.

3.3. The metaphors used in the book still bring a sense of emersive writing, giving visuals to help enhance the feelings fellt in the writings.

4. Narrative moments: - Feeling: Disgust - Philosophy - Curiosity/Research

4.1. The feeling of disgust felt at the reactions/actions of Gregor's family is due to knowing it is possible for someone to gain this reaction from their family.

4.2. Darker philosophies give a sense of reality, they help validate when i'm not feeling complete sunshine and rainbows. Help me feel less alone and give me validation in writing more dark topics.

4.3. My curiosity on the book had lead me to research in Kafka's life, it gave me more personal connections to his writings and letters. His own projection into his books helps remind me that writing is an outlet and something to help someone reflect, learn, and share.
