1. Father was caring. When telling his son that Out-With was their new home, his voice was gentle and he considered his reply carefully. This shows that he cared about his son's feelings.

2. Father was intimidating. When Bruno talked to his Father, their entire talk was held in a rather business-like, formal style.

3. Father was an important person. The men were fighting for Father's attention.

4. Father was authoratative. All he had to do was raise his hand and all the men fell silent.

5. Father was commanding and authoritative. The book states ''Father held a hand in the air, which immediately caused the other men to fall silent.'' This shows that all of the other men respected father and that they were probably working for father and father was the boss. They respected father so much and new that he was of higher authority that when he raised his hand all of them fell silent. Pg. 45 -Klarissa

6. Father was funny. The book states ''..standing open and a group of five men outside it, laughing and shaking hands. Father was at the centre of them..'' This shows that the group of men heard something funny as they were laughing. Father was at the centre so all of the men were probably focusing their attention on him so most likely it was father who had said something funny. Pg.44 -Klarissa

7. Calm and Composed when angry. " He became quiet and distant and had his way in the end anyway." Father rarely scolded Bruno but intimidated him. P.g 54-Vinessa.

8. Father is patient as he tried explaining why they moved and gave examples of his childhood when he was involved in the same situation. He did not get impatient with Bruno even though he asked a lot of questions and Bruno suspecting that father had done something wrong pg 51 and 52-ChangXin
