Unit 1 Operations with Rational Numbers 4-5 Weeks

1. Week 3: Students will apply previous knowledge about multiplication, division and fractions. Students will understand that multiplication is extended from fractions, and integers can be divided as long as the denominator is not 0. MGSE7.NS.2 MGSE7.NS.2a MGSE7.NS.2b

2. Week 1: Students will apply previous understanding of addition and subtraction. They will know that a number and its opposite equals 0, and understand positive and negative sums. MGSE7.NS.1 MGSE7.NS.1a MGSE7.NS.1b

3. Week 2: Students will understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, and apply properties of operations to add and subtract rational numbers. MGSE7.NS.1c MGSE7.NS.1d

4. Week 4: Students will learn to apply properties and operations to multiply, divide, and use decimals for rational numbers. MGSE7.NS.2c MGSE7.NS.2d

5. Week 5: Students will learn how to apply these skills to solve real world problems using operations with rational numbers. MGSE7.NS.3
