1. Racism

1.1. KKK had began to decline

1.1.1. Were a group of white people in the south that went around touched Blacks and even killed them. They believed that Blacks were lower than them socially and that it was God's will. They Would dress up in white blankets to cover there face and they would also cover there houses in white blankets too.

1.2. Blacks started having issues with the Democratic party in the south

1.3. The southern Democratic's were trying to pass the anti-lynching bill

1.3.1. Anti-Lynching - movement was a civil rights movement in the United States that aimed to eradicate the practice of lynching. Lynching was used as a tool to repress African Americans. The anti-lynching movement reached its height between the 1890s and 1930s.

2. Fashion

2.1. Women: Dresses with hair close to their heads fur and floral patterns were popular. Makeup was chic and shoulder pads were important.

2.2. Boys: Short shorts and tall socks.

2.3. Men: Dressed nice and wore fedoras.

2.4. Many clothing items were engraved or stitched with initials.

3. Education

3.1. One room school houses were very common.

3.2. During the great depression some schools conld not pay their teachers.

4. Segregation

4.1. Black codes were passed that limited the rights of blacks and segregated them from the whites.

4.2. The goals of these laws were discrimination and segregation.

4.3. The Jim Crow Laws was a system of laws and customs that enforce racial discrimination and segregation throughout the United States. Southern states passed laws the created two separate societies.

5.1.1. President at the begging of Great Depression

5.2. 1934-1945 Franklin D. Roosevelt was Preseident

6.1.1. Stock Market Crashed sending wall street into a panic

6.1.2. Put a lot of farmers out of work and most of them traveled around the country to find work

6.1.2.1. Most of the southern

6.1.3. There was also a major drought which led to the dust bowl in the Midwest causing more people to lose jobs

7.1. Radios Shows

7.1.1. Known as the golden era fro radio shows

7.1.2. High-Ho everybody/Zanies/Here comes the boat

7.2. Music

7.2.1. Big bands and swing music was really popular

7.2.2. Some Popular artist were-Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Glenn Miller
