1. Would
1.1. Se usa para declarar una preferencia y para preguntar por algo educadamente.
1.1.1. I would marry him if I loved him.(Me casaría con él si lo quisiera.)
1.1.2. Would you open the window? (¿Quieres abrir la ventana?)
1.1.3. He Wouldn't be my father. ( No podría ser mi padre)
2. Should
2.1. Indica una obligación por la cual la resulta no es cierta.
2.1.1. I should study more.(Debo/debía/debería estudiar más.)
2.1.2. He should not be at school before 9.00. (No debe/debía/debería estar en el colegio antes de las 9)
2.1.3. Should she arrive next week?. (¿Debería llegar la semana que viene?.)
3. Must
3.1. El modal must indica obligación
3.1.1. He arrived late. He must be tired.(Él llego tarde. Debe estar cansado.)
3.1.2. You mustn't eat in class. (No debes comer en clase.)
3.1.3. Must you visit New York?.(¿Debes visitar Nueva York?.)
4. Can
4.1. Como el verbo español poder, indica una posibilidad o una capacidad.
4.1.1. If you need, Carry can work on Saturday (si lo necesitas, Carry puede trabajar el sábado)
4.1.2. I can’t go to the town tomorrow (No puedo ir al centro mañana)
4.1.3. Can Mike have dinner with us? (¿Mike puede cenar con nosotros?)
5. Could
5.1. Indica una posibilidad o una capacidad en el pasado.
5.1.1. You could be wrong. (Podrías estar equivocado.)
5.1.2. I couldn't see very clearly. (Yo no pude/podría ver muy claramente.)
5.1.3. Could you open the window? (¿Pudiste/podrías abrir la ventana?)
6. Will
6.1. Se utiliza “will” para formar el tiempo futuro, también el uso de “will” significa voluntad o determinación.
6.1.1. I will go to the park (Iré al parque o voy a ir al parque).
6.1.2. I won't do the homework today (No haré la tarea hoy o no voy a hacer la tarea hoy)
6.1.3. Will you travel? (Vas a viajar?)
7. May y Might
7.1. Son sinónimos e indican una acción que puede pasar en el futuro
7.1.1. I may / might go to the park, or I may / might stay home. (Puede que vaya al parque, o
7.1.2. quizá me queda en casa.)
7.1.3. This may / might be a bad idea. (Tal vez es una mala idea.)
7.1.4. It may / might rain tonight. (Quizás llueva esta noche.)
7.1.5. I may / might go to the park, or I may / might stay home. (Puede que vaya al parque,quizá me queda en casa.)
7.1.6. It may / might rain tonight. (Quizás llueva esta noche.)
