Locations to Retire
Teenie M AFにより
1. Georgia
1.1. Weather - Similar to Tennessee and Georgia; humidity, bugs, but beautiful and centrally located to everything I want to be near
1.2. Education - Oldest wants to attend University of Georgia, great STEM program!
1.3. Cost of Living - I will be able to live off of my retirement check and not have to work!
2. Tennessee
2.1. Weather - Seasonal changes, humidity, bugs, can I really handle it?
2.2. Military Paycheck Tax Exempt - They don't tax military retirement checks and disability is already tax free
2.3. Cost of Living - Cheaper than other states to live, stretch retirement check out so I won't have to work if I choose not to
2.4. Education - Decent, kids can still go to school and get a good education
3. Florida
3.1. Weather - humidity stinks, but if living on the coast (Atlantic or Gulf Coast side) breeze will come through to semi cool the temperature
3.2. Traffic - With many retirees or snowbirds coming from the North, can I handle bumper to bumper traffic in the city?
3.3. Cost of Living - Fairly higher the closer I live near a city, I will more than likely need to get another job
3.4. Taxes - No state taxes!!
