1. the trench was 7 feet deep and 6 feet wide.
2. The British said it took 450 men and 6 hours to build about 250 meters of a trench system.
3. the bottom of the trench was usually covered with wooden boards called duckboards.
4. The trenches were around 50 to 250 yards apart.
5. There were alot of pests living in the trenches like rats,lice and frogs.
6. lice was a major problem,they made the soldiers itch and caused a disease called trench fever.
