Luxation of patella

1. Upper fixation

1.1. It is a pathological condition of stifle in which medial patellar ligament become over tracheal ridge

1.2. Caused by: straight hind limb Over scratching Loss of muscle tone Higher Uneven hoof Hormonal distributance Secondary to CNS disease Common in horse

1.3. Signs: Locked hind limb (temporary,permanent) Limb extended caudally Difficult backing Foot dragging

1.4. Treatment : Injection of counterirritant Medial patellar lig-spilliting MPD

2. Medial luxation

2.1. Not common in Dog

3. Lateral luxation

3.1. Not common in Sheep
