1. Mix-Pair-Share

1.1. The class "mixes" until the teacher calls, "pair."Students find a new partner to discuss or answer the teacher's question.

1.1.1. Students mix around the room. Teacher calls "Pair."

1.1.2. Students pair up with the person closest to them and give a high five. Students who haven't found a partner raise their hands to find each other.

1.1.3. Teacher asks a question and gives think time. Students share with their partner using : Timed Pair Share or RallyRobin.

2. RoundRobin/RallyRobin

2.1. In teams, students take turns responding orally.

2.1.1. Teacher poses a problem to which there are multiple possible responses or solutions. and provides think time.

2.1.2. Students take turns stating responses or solutions.

3. RoundTable/RallyTable

3.1. In teams, students take turns generating written responses, solving problems, or making a contribution to a project.

3.1.1. Teacher provides a task to which there are multiple possible responses and provides think time.

3.1.2. Students take turns passing a paper and a pencil or a team project, each writing one answer or making a contribution.

4. Crossword Puzzle Jigsaw

4.1. In teams, students read cue cards and comes to a consensus to find the answer in the grid using RoundRobin. One student is the scribe, and writes down the answer on the crossword.

4.1.1. Tell the students they are going to do a crossword puzzle jigsaw activity.

4.1.2. Explain the roles of Scribe and Material Manager to the students and name one for each team.

5. Pairs Jigsaw

5.1. The class is divided in half. Half the class is given material to master part of the content and the other half is given a different material to master. When they have finished, a person with each topics finds a partner with the other topic, and they take turns teaching each other what they have learned to complete the activity.

5.1.1. Each teammate writes one important fact from the lesson.

5.1.2. They each writes their facts in different directions on a paper.

6. Find Someone Who

6.1. Students circulate through the classroom, forming and reforming pairs, trying to "find someone who" knows an answer, then they become "someone who knows"

6.1.1. Students mix in the class, keeping a hand raised until they find a partner that is not a teammate. In pairs, Partner A asks a question from the worksheet (provided by the teacher); Partner b responds. Partner A records the answer on the worksheet and expresses appreciation.

6.1.2. Partner B checks and initials the answer. Partner B asks a question; Partner A responds. Partner b records the answer on the worksheet and express appreciation.

6.1.3. Partner a checks and initials the answer. Partners shake hands, part, and raise a hand as they search for a new partner.

7. Think-Pair-Share

7.1. Students have to think about a topic and then they have to pair up to discuss the topics to see each other's point of view. When the pair has come to a consensus they share it with the class as a whole group.

7.1.1. Teacher gives a topic to the class, and students have to think about it on their own.

7.1.2. Students pair up to share their ideas on the topic and come to a consensus.

7.1.3. Students have to share their ideas that they agreed on with the rest of the class.

8. Think-Square-Share

8.1. Students have to think individually on a topic given by the teacher. Then, in teams of four, they have to discuss the topic and come to a conclusion together. The team have to share their ideas with the class.

8.1.1. Teacher gives a topic to the class and the students have to think on it.

8.1.2. Students are teamed up in four to talk about their ideas and come to a consensus.

8.1.3. The team has to share their conclusion with the rest of the class.

9. StandUp-HandUp-Pair-Up

9.1. Students stand up, put their hands up, and quickly find a partner with whom to share or discuss.

9.1.1. Teacher says, when I say go you will "stand up, hand up and pair up!"Teacher pauses, then says, "Go!"

9.1.2. Students stand up and keep one hand high in the air until they find the closer partner who's not a teammate. Students do a "high five" and put their hands down.

9.1.3. Partners interact using: RallyRobin or Timed pair Square.

10. Inside-Outside Circle

10.1. Students Rotate in concentric circles to face new partners for sharing, quizzing, or problem solving.

10.1.1. Students form pairs. One student from each pair moves to form one large circle in the class facing outward.

10.1.2. Remaining students find and face their partners(class now stands in two concentric-circles).

11. Heads Together

11.1. Teammates put their "heads together" to reach a consensus on the team's answer. Everyone keeps on their toes because their number may be called to share the team's answer.

11.1.1. Teacher poses a problem and gives think time.

11.1.2. Students privately write their answers

11.1.3. Students stand up and "put their heads together", showing answers, discussing and teaching each other.

12. Three-Step Interview

12.1. Students interview their partner and then each share with their teammates what they learned.

12.1.1. teacher provides the interview topic, states the duration of the interview and provides think time.

12.1.2. In pairs, Student A interviews Student B; Pairs switch roles: Student B interview Student A.

12.1.3. RoundRobin: Pairs pair up to form groups of four. each student, in turn, shares with the team what he or she learned in the interview.

13. Within-Team Jigsaw

13.1. In the simplest of all the jigsaw variations, students never leave their teams. each student on the team is given a different section of the text to read and analyze.

13.1.1. Students use RoundRobin to teach each other what they have learned.

13.1.2. Teammates take notes while the students teach.

14. Classic Jigsaw with Base

14.1. Students work in small groups to develop knowledge on a topic before teaching what they have learn to another group.

14.1.1. Select a subject and divide it in four.

14.1.2. Divide your class in four groups to match the division of the subject.

15. Team Pair Solo

15.1. First round, students work as a team to complete a team activity. When every group is done go over the answers as a class. Second round, students pair themselves up to complete the activity and the class go over the answers together again before splitting. third round, the students complete the activity by themselves to be sure everyone understood what was the task.

15.1.1. Teacher gives an activity to complete as a team.

15.1.2. Go over the answer as a class.

15.1.3. Students have to pair up to do the activity.

16. Timed Pair Share

16.1. In pairs, students share with a partner for a predetermined time while the partner listens. Then partners switch roles.

16.1.1. Teacher announces a topic, states hoe long each student will share, and provide think time.

16.1.2. In pairs, Partner A shares; Partner B listens. Partner b responds with a positive gambit. Partner switch roles.

17. Talking Chips

17.1. Teammates place Talking Chips in the center of the table to make sure everyone contributes to the team discussion.

17.1.1. Teacher provides a discussion topic and provide think time.

17.1.2. Any student begins the discussion, placing one of his or her chips in the center of the table.

17.1.3. Any student with a chip continues discussing, using his or her chip.
