Thematic Unit on Bees

1. Physical Education Students will play Butterflies and Bees which is an elementary version of tag
2. Art Class Students will observe images of real honey comb and then will work collaboratively to make a geometric honeycomb with watercolors
3. Science Class Students will learn about the external body parts of a bee and the roles of the different types of bees in a bee colony.
4. Math Class Students will practice their long division skills by playing a math game called Honey Bee Long Division
5. History Class Students will research about the history of bee keeping. An actual bee keeper will be invited to class to present his/her experiences as a modern day beekeeper
