3. Seen as he is our hero and main character he needed to be portrayed as the good guy. To do so we have represented a Lawyer as that connotes buisness, profession, legitimacy and trust. To do so we looked at existing movie Lawyers like Matthew McConaughey in the Lincoln Lawyer and George Clooney in Intolerable Cruelty.

6. Also to adhere to his good guy status we designed him to be a family man. To represent a family man we adhere to ideologies. White, Male, Working Man plus the family photos.

7. A motivation in many films for a criminal is usually money. For example in 'Proof of Life' there are many shots of the movement of masses of money. So we printed $100 bills to feature in our gang member sequence.

8. Also we needed to represent them as violent. To do this we relied on mise en scene of props and framing. Our actor features holding very intimidating weapons ie the gun and machette.

9. Criminal Ideology We tried to re-construct the stereotypical ideology of a criminal or a gang member. Do so we researched existing examples.

14. In an attempt to create reality rather than simply relfect it from other media products I found a news article. An infamous Dutch criminal named the 'Godfather' has had a film made based on his life. The makers have portrayed him in the film how he was in real life...

15. Typically criminals are unidentifiable to add an element of mystery to the narrative. This is evident in 'Inside Man' as they adopt the persona of painters, 'Point Break' use masks of ex-presidents. In these examples their disguise is relevant to the plot whereas we had no need for that so we used all black clothing and balaclavas.

16. Though he features tattoos which usually supports it's own conventions. For exmaple in Number 23, tattoos are the defining factor between differentiating between Fingerling(the psyco) and Walter Sparrow the family man. But we can challenge this as in action films speciafically the hero often has tattoos. Blade (Wesley Snipes), Expendables, Wanted (Angelina Jolie). Also tattoos imply there is more to our character than initally meets the eye.
