1.2. Green building features are flexible, adaptable and easy to maintain.
1.3. Enhanced air and water quality, decreased waste streaming into canals and maintain natural sources.
1.4. Reduced operating costs as they typically use less energy and materials
2. Goals
2.1. To implement construction methods that improve and prolong and/or maintain the quality of life and our environment

2.3. Hwang et al, (2010) mentioned mounting awareness of the negative impacts. This is also one of the important goals.
3. Challenges
3.1. The production of building materials involves the use of more high value energy and resources in comparison with building operations.
3.2. Mawat et al. concludes, "The lack of approved LEED products, lack of building management skills, poor performance characteristics and unsuitable orientation of old buildings are the main barriers to green retrofit projects in the country". (2019)
3.3. Lack of funding
3.4. Weather variations in different geographical areas.
