1.1. Class- A system of power based on wealth, income, and status that creates an unequal distribution of a society's resources

"in a time of economic upheaval and intensifying social stratification, Marx warned that religion was like a narcotic: It dulled people's pain so they did not realize how serious the situation was. religion, Marx argues, played a key role in keeping ht proliterat-the working poor- from engaging in the revolutionary social change that he believed was needed to improve their situation"(Guest 583).

4. Chapter 12: Global Economy

4.2. Reciprocity- The exchange of resources, goods and services amongpeople of relatively equal status: meant to create and reinforce social ties
