1. Problems - Wildfires in California

1.1. Out of the 32.1 million acres of land in CA 2.1 million acres was burned from 2002-2011. In the following decade, 7.9 million acres have been burned from 2012-2021.

1.2. Wildfires can burn through a forest at a speed of 10 kilometers (6 miles) an hour.

1.3. 300-600 mountain lions have been killed due to California wildfires. Which is 15% of their population. Mountain lions is only 1 out of thousands of animals in danger from wildfires

2.1. California Wildfire Foundation

2.1.1. Provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect. The Foundation supplies public safety resources, and conducts outreach and education about fire safety issues through its Firefighters

2.2. American Red Cross

2.2.1. Helping evacuees finding people a safe place to stay, food to eat and emotional support. Supporting people to keep fighting for their land from wildfires.

3. Ideas for solutions

3.1. Check weather and drought conditions before doing something that could indicate a fire

3.2. To put out a controlled fire heat, fuel, and oxygen must be removed. Putting dirt and water on a fire removes the oxygen from the fuel

3.3. Raising more money for organizations to help support people and animals during a wildfire and to have proper equipment to stop wildfires
