2.1. 200,000 Brazilian Children are living on the streets
2.1.1. Children, especially female children are vulnerable to end up as prostitutes or part of gangs.
2.1.2. FUNABEM AND FEBEM are government group homes that house these street children
2.2. Standard of living is very poor
2.2.1. children either enter the workforce looking for an honest living
2.2.2. children enter gangs to live the "good life.''
2.2.3. minimum wage is hardly enough to feed the average family and many children eat food from garbage bins of hotels
2.3. Class Division
2.3.1. the middle class and upperclass have moved further away and built higer walls to protect themselves from the growing street population
2.3.2. Street children idolize and wish for the upperclass lifestyle
2.4. Young parents
2.4.1. many street children either become biological parents or parents of their siblings
2.4.2. Continues the cycle of poverty
