1.2. Centre of Wales and it is rainy with average precipitation of 2,500mm

2. Upper course
2.1. begins in highlands with excessive relief rainfall due to pynlimon hills
2.2. forms a v shaped valley as the river size and power cuts down into the landscape due to vertical erosion
2.2.1. water in valley is fast flowing and has a high carrying capacity so erosion increases
2.2.1.1. causes abrasion as attitratoin as sediment is carried by traction and saltation
