1. Create a Career Portfolio

1.1. Use several tools, online and paper based, to research careers

1.1.1. You will create a Google Doc listing the information learned about three careers.

1.2. Choose one of the three careers you have researched and create a list of five pros and five cons of that career.

1.2.1. Make a video or audio recording of yourself discussing the pros and cons of one career you believe you may enjoy.

1.3. Create a list of skills that a person wanting to begin the career you have chosen in step two must posses. Consider the classes students take in Middle School and High School to gain these skills.

1.3.1. Create a Google Doc listing the skills one might need to be competitive in this career.

1.3.1.1. In Google Docs, write a paragraph about what classes you might take, what clubs you might join, what sports you might play, and other activities you might join to gain the skills you have listed.

2. The goals of the fifth grade classroom guidance program are to have students prepared to move to the middle school level of academics and to help students adjust to the personal and social aspects of life in the community.
