1. What do I KNOW?
1.1. I know that each generation growing up in the United States is becoming more technology oriented. Today's youth is spending more time than ever using electronics. At home, children learn by using tablets, smartphones, and computers. Using anything different at school would be foreign and unnecessary. It is paramount that educators become in tune with the changing learning styles of students at all levels.
2. What do I WANT TO KNOW?
2.1. I want to know how to better integrate technology into my classroom. It is my goal to master as many technology-based visual, interactive, and kinestechic tools as possible. As a special educator, setting attainable student goals is a large part of my responsibility. I desire to do this in an advanced way using technology.
3. What did I LEARN?
3.1. During the short two week span of this class, I have come across a plethora of educational tech. resources. The knowledge that I have gained is tangible and immediately ready to use. Apps, websites, and software can make setting goals and providing student feedback real and interactive for all involved in the process. The links to the right of this box are resources that I have explored and used. Quizdini is an online resource that allows teachers to create quizzes and give customized feedback. Fotobabble combines photo and audio media to enhance instruction. Google Drive is an online platform for sharing files in a streamline fashion. Rubistar is an online rubric creator. Survey Monkey allows teachers to receive feedback from students online. Using SchoolTube, teachers can create or watch educational videos to enrich lessons.
