Validity and Reliability

1. Test-Retest or Stability

1.1. method is used to assess the consistency of a test across time. It is given twice at two different time.

3.1. A measure of consistency where a test is split in two and the scores for each half of the test is compared with one another.

4.1. is used to judge the consistency of results across items on the same test

6. Concurrent validity

6.1. Measures that can be administered at the same time as the measure to be validated.

7. Predictive validity

7.1. The effectiveness of one set of test or research results as a predictor of the outcome of future experiments or test.

8. Construct validity

8.1. The degree to which an instrument measures the characteristic being investigated.

9. Content validity

9.1. Verification that the method of measurement actually measures what is expected to measure.
