3.1. 2002 - AspectJ 1.0 release. Gregor Kiczales and his team, while working at Xerox

3.2. 2003 - more serious AspectJ 1.1 release

3.4. People from IBM develops AspectJ further and they create the AspectJ Developement Tools (AJDT) compiler.
