1. Scarlett
1.1. What is her relationship with Bod?
1.1.1. Scarlett and Bod used to be childhood friends. They always played together but Scarlett's mother though Bod was Scarlett's imaginary friend as she couldn't see Bod.
1.2. How does Bod feel about her?
1.2.1. Scarlett made him feel happy. In page 41, Bod didn't want to fight or argue with Scarlett because she became his friend and he felt happy.
1.2.2. In page 230, it said that Bod had missed Scarlett for a few years after she went away. Also, in page 227 and 228, both Scarlett and Bod met in their dreams. In my opinion, Bod had a crush on Scarlett.
2. The Man Jack
2.1. What is his relationship with Bod?
2.1.1. He was sent by his mysterious organisation to kill Bod's whole family, although Bod escaped.
2.2. How does Bod feel about him?
2.2.1. When Bod first learns about him, he wants vengeance. In page 181 of the book, Bod says, "If I go outside in the world, the question isn't 'who will keep me safe from him... It's 'who will keep him safe from me?'"
2.2.2. Later, when Scarlett is in danger, page 262-263 of the book, Bod begins to feel a fear of Jack, because although Jack cannot hurt him, he can hurt his friends.
3. Mother Slaughter
3.1. What is her relationship with Bod?
3.1.1. They were just acquaintance. Mother Slaughter was only a resident in the graveyard and she only appeared in a few pages when Bod was still a baby when they were discussing how Mrs and Mr Owens wanted to take care of Bod. She also appeared in Chapter 5 & 8.
3.2. How does Bod feel about her?
3.2.1. In page 146, Bod thought that Mother Slaughter was odd when she pushed into the ivy and dissapeared from Bod's sight after Bod asked, '"What's the Macabray?"
3.2.2. In page 298, Bod felt a little uneasy after he had talked to Mother Slaughter. In my opinion, I think he felt a little uneasy from the change of Mother Slaughter's attitude when she scrubbed off the blood from Bod's forehead. Her actions were different from her usual self as she was always keeping a distance from the others.
4. Silas
4.1. What is his relationship with Bod?
4.1.1. He is Bod's guardian but Bod also looks up to him like an idol. Silas took care of Bod's basic needs such as food and Shelter.
4.2. How does Bod feel about him?
4.2.1. In page 38, Bod said, '"I want to be like you."' He wanted to be like Silas who could leave and enter the graveyard. Bod wanted to leave the graveyard as well.
4.2.2. In page 65, Silas announced that he had to leave and that made Bod feel upset and furious. '"You're meant to look after me. You said."' Bod said to Silas. Bod likes Silas and treated him like a family and he didn't want Silas to leave him.
