1. LONGEST RIVER:The Nile is credited as the longest river in the world. Its main source is Lake Victoria in east central Africa. From its farthest stream in Burundi, it extends 6,695 km (4,160 miles) in length.
2. DEEPEST POINT IN THE OCEANS: The Challenger Deep is the deepest known point in the Earth's seabed hydrosphere, with a depth of 10,898 to 10,916 m (35,755 to 35,814 ft) by direct measurement from submersibles, and slightly more by sonar bathymetry (see below). It is in the Pacific Ocean, at the southern end of the Mariana Trench near the Mariana Islands group.
3. DRIEST PLACE: The Atacama Desert is located in northern Chile and reaches a small part of southern Peru (South America), climbing up to 3,200 m (10,670 ft) altitude on an area of 181,300 square km (72,500 square mi).
4. LARGEST ISLAND: The largest island in the world is Greenland, wich has an area of 2,130,800 sq km.
5. COLDEST PLACE: The coldest place on Earth is Antarctica, in particular, the interior of the continent since the coastal áreas are a Little warmer. The mean annual temperature in the interior is 57°C.
6. LOWEST POINT ON DRY LAND: is the shore of the Dead Sea, which is shared by Israel and Jordan. The Dead Sea is in fact a saltwater lake 9.6 time as salty as the ocean and fish cannot live in the water.
7. HIGHEST WATERFALL: Located in the Guiana Highlands in the state of Bolívar, the falls sit deep in the Venezuelan jungle and to this day remain very difficult to reach. The falls sit on the Churú River, which flows into the Caroní. They flow approximately 260 km (160 miles) southeast of Ciudad Bolívar, the 11th-largest city in Venezuela.
8. THE WORLD´S LARGEST DESERT:Is the Sahara Desert. An area of 600-800 square kilometers. The Sahara is the largest hot desert and third largest desert after Antarctica and the Arctic. Its combined surface area of 9,400,000 square kilometres (3,600,000 sq mi)—accounting for substrates such as the Libyan Desert and the Sudan region—is comparable to the respective land areas of China and the United States.
