1. SOLUTIONS

1.1. REMOVAL OF THE PEACE WALL even though it isa factors helping this city reduce crime rate but it is also a cause to why there will never be good cross comunity relations between catholics and protestants as both communities will grow seperatly and will never change and accept each others community beliefs

1.1.1. instore good cross comunity relations between protestants and catholics

1.2. THE STEWARTSTOWN REGENERATION PROJECT aims to find a solution to the decay and environmental degradation at the road frontage interface to/and create a sustainable community

1.2.1. create jobs to solve unemployment problem

1.2.2. peaceful environment--> communties can be peacefully brought together

1.2.3. create a children day care centre with 50 places could teach respect and equality to the children in both communities at a very young age.,

1.3. instore a programme in the schools to inform and teach about the equality of both communities to put an end to the influence of hatred for each others community taught by their parents or other elder members of their community.

1.4. Reinforcment of the police in certain more problematic areas where vandalism and attacks are more fequent, motivation of the police to find and get the bottom of these criminal acts of violence

2. PROBLEMS

2.1. RACISM/DISCRMINATION ( racial & social) is at an extremely high rate in 99% white Belfast

2.2. VIOLENCE: crime rate and racist attacks are very high, many victims of the community do not always report these crimes and even expect it

2.2.1. vandalism --> graffitis on the walls of local chinese takeaways & house destruction

2.2.2. attacks --> physical: ranges from throwing eggs/ ice cream cones to breaking in their houses and beating them up with bats or crowbars to murder -->moral

2.3. Social/religious devision in northern Ireland between catolics ( self identify as irish nationalists) and protstants (self identify as british unionists) put forward by a physical segregation maintained by a peace wall that is over 34km long and 7.5m tall

2.4. Brownfields are a conequence of vandalised houses that are abandoned and are now decaying proprieties , same as with roads

2.5. unemployment rate is high, which consequently gives the oportunity to the loyalists and nationalists to focus on their beliefs
