3.2.1. a book that is at students overall instructional level, a book holder and pointer. The reading material needs to have text big enough for all students to see.

3.3.1. whole group together in a large reading area. the classroom should have cue cards with words or posters reminding students of reading strategies they are learning.

3.4.1. light hearted, encouraging and quiet so students feel as though they can participate and learn openly with the rest of their class.

3.5.1. 15-20 minutes. with increased student involvement with each additional lesson on the same text.

4. Guided Reading

4.1.1. a leveled book based on their instructional reading level. CVV word flash cards, high frequency word flash cards, reading strategies charts for reference

4.2.1. activities and lessons for small groups to work on while practicing and watching modelled independent reading.

4.3.1. small group table away from the rest of the class.

4.4. classroom atmosphere

4.4.1. students who are not working on guided reading are working on other activities that are quiet.

4.5.1. approximately 15 minutes of structured literacy instruction.
