Why do we have seasons?

1. 1. The Earth rotates the Sun tilted on its axis at 23.5 degrees.

2. 2. As the Earth rotates, the hemispheres angle toward or away from the sun.

3. 3. When a hemisphere is leaning toward the sun, it is in a path of direct sunlight.

4. 4. The opposite is also true. When a hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, it's in a path of indirect sunlight.

5. 5. Direct sunlight gives a hemisphere more heat, which determines what season it is.

6. 6. Reversely, indirect sunlight gives a hemisphere less heat.

7. 8. The instances of direct sunlight cause summer. The transition periods are fall and spring.

8. 7. The instances where there is indirect sunlight causes winter.
