1.3. The Code of Good Governance sets out the principles and key elements of good governance for the voluntary committee. Its five key principles cover: Principle 1 - An effective board will provide good governance and leadership by understanding its role and responsibilities. Principle 2 - An effective board will provide good governance and leadership by working well both as individuals and as a team. Principle 3 - An effective board will provide good governance and leadership by ensuring delivery of organisational purpose. Principle 4 - An effective board will provide good governance and leadership by exercising appropriate control. Principle 5 - An effective board will provide good governance and leadership by behaving with integrity and by being open and accountable.

2.1. What is the purpose of KHK

2.2.1. A vision is a clear and inspirational hope for the future.

2.3. Mission

2.3.1. The mission statement is:  the core message of the organisation’s purpose and reason it exists;  what you are trying to do, why, and for whom.

2.4.1. An organisation's values are its guiding principles which apply across the organisation and underpin how its work is carried out. An organisation's values are its basic beliefs about what really matters, which guide how things should be done.

3. Committee

3.1. Executive Committee Members

3.1.1. Chairperson/President A good committee chair should have the following traits - objectivity, approachability, a team builder, ability to speak clearly and concisely, a strong networker, strategic thinker. Vice Chair/President As above and to support the chairperson

3.1.2. Secretary The role of the Secretary is to support the Chair in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Committee. In summary, the Secretary is responsible for: Ensuring meetings are effectively organised and minuted Maintaining effective records and administration Upholding the legal requirements of governing documents, charity law, company law etc (where relevant). Communication and correspondence Vice Secretary Support role to the Secretary

3.1.3. Treasurers The Treasurer has a watchdog role over all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Executive Committee to safeguard the organisation's finances. In summary, the Treasurer is responsible for: 1. General financial oversight 2. Funding, fundraising and sales(this may be something for the future) 3. Financial planning and budgeting 4. 3.2.1. At this stage, one member per state to oversee and manage their area according to the constitution of the committee and in accordance to the purpose
