7. My Thoughts: I have to agree with Gloria, she worked very hard through the years to obtain the connections and her permenant employment. However, Soneca began helping her at a very young age. Gloria made the choice to bring children into the world, and then make them laborers, just as her parents had done.

10. Gloria refused to care for her and her child. My thought is that she was probably more upset about the lost dreams of her daughter than the pregnancy itself.
