1. hypertext system are used for:1) electronic publishing and reference work.2)technical documentation.3)educational  coursework. 4)interactive kiosks.5)electronic catalog.

2. hypertext:hypertext is a text which contains link to others texts.hypermedia:it can includes other media.eg:graphic,images and especially the continues media.hypermedia structure:links,nodes,anchors.

2.1. link:links are connection between conceptual elements.2)nodes:nodes and links form the backbones of a knowledge access system.3)anchors:references one documents to another document.

3. unicode:16-bit architecture, covers96382 characters,including han chinese,japanese,arabic,korean and bengali and so on.

3.1. font mapping:some fonts installed in your machine may not be available in other users machine.

4. bitmaps font consist:file size increase as more sizes are added,required a lot of memory and non-scalable.

5. serif versus sans serif:serif:is the little decoration at the end of the letter stroke.sens serif:fonts do not have decoration at the end of the letter stroke.

6. font terminology:baseline:bases of characters are arranged.CAP HEIGHT:refers to the height of capital letter.X HEIGHT:baseline and the top of a lower case letter x.ASCENDERS:dropbelow the baseline.

7. font styles includes:boldface,italic,underlining,outlining.

8. study of fonts and type faces:font styles,font terminology,cases.

9. choosing text fonts:1)consider legibility and readability 2)avoid too many faces.3)use color purposefully.
