1.1. Food Security

1.1.1. "Food security exists when all people at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life" (World Food Summit, 1996).

1.2. Food Insecurity

1.2.1. "Food insecurity exists when the availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods or the ability to acquire such food in socially acceptable ways is limited or uncertain"(Willows, Veugelers, Raine, & Kuhle, 2011, para. 2).
