1. Philosophy
1.1. To encompass interprofessionalism within my professional endeavors in patient care platforms and models for the best possible healthcare outcome for patients diagnosed with life threatening illness. In order to do so, it is critical for teams to work together in an ethical, collaborative and integrated manner
2. Mission
2.1. My mission is to help those navigating a new cancer diagnosis through compassion and empathy. I will use my knowledge of clinical research, along with new and expanding treatment options to alleviate any additional undue stress through an interprofessional approach
3. IP Development
3.1. 1 Year Goal
3.1.1. Professional Goal- Work within the patient advocacy groups during protocol development to develop IP and hold virtual sessions on needs that are seen in the field from a patient perspective
3.2. 5 Year Goal
3.2.1. Professional Goal- Works towards developing integrated IP models in protocol development, implementation and outcomes with patient advocacy groups. This would include reviews of support needed with patient consent forms, such as reimbursement, companion care and mental health support.
4. Interprofessional Education
4.1. 1 Year Goal
4.1.1. Professional Goal -Continue to develop my own knowledge base on IPE. This can include podcasts, blogs, books and additional development courses
4.1.2. Personal Goal – Continue to think outside the box, taking into account various perspectives and roles to further integrate to my professional career.
4.2. 5 Year Goal
4.2.1. Professional Goal-Work towards developing a platform within our learning module for IPE. This would be for the organization as a whole. The goal is to remove barriers that occur due to the company’s structure.
4.2.2. Personal Goal-Obtain my IPE certificate – this would be for future career endeavors, such as teaching and to continue to develop my skills for integration into my current profession.
5. Value/Ethics
5.1. 1 Year Goal
5.1.1. Professional Goal- Work with the People and Organization to understand how values and ethics come into play not only for research methods, but from a patient perspective as well. This would be in a joint effect with patient advocacy groups.
5.2. 5 Year Goal
5.2.1. Professional Goal -To develop my own cultural competency through attendance of conferences, exploration and engaging in community discussions. Through this research, I would advocate for ethical practices within clinical research methods.
6. Roles/Responsibilities
6.1. 1 Year Goal
6.1.1. Professional Goal- Work with P&O to develop a more integrated corporate structure that allows for a true collaborative model
6.2. 5 Year Goal
6.2.1. Professional Goal – Upon working with P&O for an integrated CTT model, implement specific criterial for this approach to be successful within the development organization. This would include working closing with patient advocacy groups and local indication experts for full IP integration for positive health outcomes.
7. Leadership Perspectives
7.1. 1 Year Goal
7.1.1. Professional Goal-Fully explore my positive and negative attributes within my own leadership style. This will be from solicited feedback from current and past coworkers. In order to fully integrate IP in my professional role, it is key to understand both sides to continue to develop my skillset.
7.2. 5 Year Goal
7.2.1. Professional Goal-Work within the development operations group to start a committee that mentors others using the IP model and framework. In creating this committee to foster a mentality of collaborative IP we can improve patient care models and health outcomes which is critical in research.
8. Best Practices in IPE
8.1. 1 Year Goal
8.1.1. Professional Goal-Reach out to others in research, this will include non-profits, learning institutions and pharmaceutical companies, to understand what if any IP models are in place for patient care models within oncology research. Hold a conference to share lessons learned within their specific platforms to understand how from a pharmaceutical perspective, this can be supported early on within research development.
8.2. 5 Year Goal
8.2.1. Professional Goal-As mentioned within my personal goal, obtain my IPE certificate to further develop best practices with IPE and integrated care models for research. These specific courses for the certificate will help me to provide substantive changes to the research model for quality patient outcomes.
