1.1.1. Going through—Fight save marriage—Paying bills!Teen—Health—You feel anxious—Frustrated—Afraid.
1.1.2. Jesus sees. Notices—He cares!
1.1.3. Jesus sees grieving mom—Hurts with her and for her in his gut.
1.1.4. “...Don’t cry!” he said. 14Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped.(13b-14)
1.2. He touched the coffin...Not like ours—Sides and lids Flat piece of wood they’d lay body on.
1.2.1. Touched coffin—Shocking—Scandalous!
1.2.2. Pharisees—613 religious laws—Outward appearances—Show.Can’t touch dead body—Anything touches—Unclean!
1.2.3. When Jesus touched boy’s body—Crossed a line!
1.2.3.1. Jesus was a line crosser—Rule breaker.
1.2.3.2. Every time religion drew a line—Jesus crossed the line.
1.2.3.3. Love crosses lines!
1.2.4. Distorted religion draws lines to keep people out!
1.2.4.1. Could be a reason so many turn away from church today.Religious people care about rules, appearances.
1.2.4.2. If that’s part of the church world you don’t like—Jesus didn’t either
2. We don’t draw lines to keep people out. We cross lines to bring people in.
2.1. Ignoring the Religious Policies—Touches her dead son. No boundaries—No rules—No laws—Keep Jesus from caring.
2.2. Jesus touches boy—Crowd gasped (shocking)—More incredibly The boy gasped—Jesus’ touch brings him back to life.
3. Just. One. Touch.The Lord saw. He cared. He touched.
3.1. Hard to explain what this act of compassion did for Single Mom. Didn’t have husband or son—No support—(Eat)—Beg or worse!
3.2. But Jesus touches her son, and he’s alive again!
3.3. Jesus walks over to mom...Not only gives her back her son—Gives her back her hope!

7.2.1. Luke 7—Our first emotion of Jesus! Jesus just finished preaching Sermon on Mount—Luke 7:11

The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her.

8.1.2. Funny—Saw everyone—Wherever he looked—Saw people. He didn’t just look—He saw—He noticed.
